Can you believe that this is second Dear Wednesday ever? The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Thanks so much in advance for sharing our lifestyle and encouragement blog with your friends and fam! Read on for our blog, weekly fab finds, and more!
I love my job!
I love the people I get to help and how I have grown professionally.
Think back to when you first started the job you are currently working. What goals and aspirations did you have? Like me, were you unsure whether you would cut the mustard or fail miserably?
I know for me there were moments where I struggled and made mistakes, but there was always an opportunity to do better and move forward in growth. As time passed though, I began to outgrow my environment and needed MORE to continue my professional development. More what, you may ask. More training opportunities, more upward mobility, more control over my schedule and more support.
Has it been the same for you? Do you even love your job? If not, that may be the biggest catalyst for your desire to go to a new environment.
I had to make the choice to seek out a new workplace where I could still be challenged and s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d!
Sounds easy, right?
Not at all.
I kept trying and facing several rejections which was discouraging. I didn’t even have forewarning when my desired position presented itself. I had to act in a timely manner and make life changes to adjust for this new opportunity. It was a little scary and nerve wracking. There were even moments where things didn’t go as planned and I questioned my decision to make this transition. But every time I thought about the desires of my heart that were missing from my current position, I just kept plugging along.
Sure, I could have stayed in my pond where all was familiar and safe. But I knew in order to develop skills I wasn’t aware I had or was sure how to use, I needed MORE.
What MORE do you need that will cause you to disrupt your security for a new home in an ocean, not a pond?
